Project Overview

The product

The Dog Breed Selector app is a tool that helps people who desire to adopt a dog decide which breed of dog would be the best fit for their personality and life situation. The Dog Breed Selector app’s primary target users include retirees who want to adopt a dog but need a way of determining which dog breed is the best fit for there personality and life situation.

Project duration

15th August 2022 to november 25th 2022

The problem

People want to adopt dogs but are concerned that they will choose the wrong breed leading to a bad fit or possibly needing to return the dog. It has been identified that a lack of general knowledge about dog breeds and limited understanding about their impact on dog owners are crucial drivers for continued adoption of dogs that do not fit the owner’s personality or life situation.

The Goal

Design an app that will improve education on the topic of dog breeds and help people choose a dog breed that would be a great fit for their personality and life situation.

Target Audience

The one who love to know more about dog and Dog Lover.

My role:

Understanding the user

User Research: Summary

I develped interview questions, which were then used to conduct user interviews. Most interview participants reported being concerned about adopting the wrong type of dog. The feedback received through research made it very clear that users would be open and willing to work towards finding the right breed of dog for them if they had access to an easy-to-use tool to help guide them.

User research: pain points

1. No Platform: No proper platform.
2. No Detail: No detail history about picture on internet.
3. Time: Time consuming to visit museum

Refining the Design

Going forward

Impact:

Our target users found the design to be easy I learned that even though the problem I was to use.

One quote from peer feedback: “It was super! It just flowed and I like that."

What I learned:

I learned that even though the problem I was to use. trying to solve was a big one, diligently going through each step of the design process and aligning with specific user needs helped me come up with solutions that were both feasible and useful.

Next steps

1.Conduct another round of usability studies to validate whether the pain points that users experienced have been effectively addressed

Conduct more user research to determine any new areas of need.
